A 1970s era house with fantastic lake views was in need of a remodel. The overall goal of the new design was to provide a clean, contemporary kitchen that would become the heart of the house. A long, linear island with four contemporary pendant lights above anchors the new layout. Sleek modern cabinetry with marble countertops and a marble backsplash surround the island on all four sides. Stainless steel appliances with matching cabinet hardware complement the modern lines of the new layout. A new triple window above the sink and new transom windows at the rear of the kitchen allow more natural daylight into the space. New plank tile flooring below and wood beams above also contribute to the overall order of the new layout. Matching cabinetry and hardware were also installed in the adjacent mud room which helps to keep the kitchen and the remainder of the first floor clutter-free.
